Small Group Homes

Riversdale

Riversdale consists of two homes. The back garden of Riversdale House leads toward the back garden of the Coach House.

Riversdale House

Our first small group home in Cardiff was registered with the Care Standards Inspectorate for Wales (now known as the Care and Social Services Inspectorate Wales) and opened to clients in 2005. It is a large house and was extensively refurbished to a high standard, including ensuite toilets and shower rooms for each of the five bedrooms. It is pleasantly situated in a quiet part of Cardiff overlooking the river Taff, yet is still close to local village amenities and the centre of Cardiff.

This home has an attached annex flat, and this offers potential for clients to benefit from graded exposure to independent living. With time and appropriate support, clients may graduate from the main house to the annexe and on to less supported accommodation in due course.

Coach House

The Coach House, was historically a coach house for the original Riversdale House. It is a large traditional stone built property adjacent to the rear of Riversdale House with gardens and parking. It has ample communal living space with a modern kitchen and conservatory. The property is suitable for up to four service users who each have a large first floor bedroom.

Ty Newydd

Ty Newydd was opened in May 2006 in an area with many local amenities and services. It is on a bus route for easy access to the city centre and shops are a short walk away. Community services can be accessed by foot, car or bus.

The house itself is similar to others nearby and blends in accordingly. It has five large bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a toilet upstairs and downstairs. The kitchen has a breakfast bar and leads to the dining room. There is a conservatory, main living room and a spacious quiet room.

Ty Nant

Ty Nant consists of three homes and is registered for up to ten service users.

Nant-y-Bwthyn

Nant-y-Bwthyn was opened in Rhondda Cynon Taff in January 2009. It is a new home with parking to the front and a garden to the back that overlooks trees. It has a living room, separate dining room, kitchen, utility room and a conservatory on the ground floor. Upstairs are three bedrooms, a bathroom and a shower room. The property is suitable for up to three service users.

Nant-yr-Hafod

Nant-yr-Hafod opened in 2010. It is situated in the middle with the other two homes either side. The layout is almost identical to Nant-y-Bwthyn.

Nant-y-Coed

Nant-y-Coed opened also in 2010. The property is suitable for up to four service users, all of whom have ensuite bedrooms.
