Dunvant, Swansea
Integra has recently obtained registration with our regulator, the Care and Social Services Inspectorate Wales (CSSIW) for one new small group home in Dunvant, Swansea.
This page has been developed to help provide further information to members of that local community about the proposed service.
Details about any open days in Dunvant are set out at the bottom of this page. Please contact Integra on 02920 49 44 45 if you would like to visit the home before it opens.
We want to be clear that:
The registered home is for up to five vulnerable adults with enduring mental health needs aged 18 to 65 with the CSSIW.
Common misconceptions
We understand some common misconceptions have arisen about this service.
Drug and alcohol users
We do not and will not deliver drug or alcohol rehabilitation services at Integra.
Paedophiles
Accommodation specifically set up to house sex offenders and/or paedophiles would not, as we understand it, be capable of being registered as small group homes in the community.
Personality Disorder
Our admissions criteria for the home exclude persons with a diagnosis of personality disorder (this would include psychopaths).
The facts in brief
Our clients
Irrespective of their mental health diagnosis, all residents will have been assessed as safe and stable to live in the community by their NHS clinicians.
Our residents are not detained in our homes. If our residents needed physical security they would not be in the community in a small group home.
Our residents generally require support and rehabilitation in respect of activities of daily living which most of us tend to take for granted such as shopping, cleaning and cooking.
